Day 1: The Office – Khmu village – Ban Namxa (Akha Homestay)
(Approx 5-6 hours trekking)

Your journey begins in the charming town of Luang Namtha, where you meet your experienced local guide for a short briefing before departing around 9:00 AM.
A scenic drive takes you to Ban Chalernsouk, a Khmu village located at the edge of Nam Ha National Protected Area. Here, you meet your village guide and begin trekking into pristine primary forest. The trail follows gentle streams, bamboo groves, and lush jungle paths, leading you deep into untouched nature.
Along the way, your guide shares fascinating jungle knowledge to introducing seasonal forest fruits, edible herbs, and basic survival skills. You will even help collect fresh ingredients from the forest and learn how to prepare a traditional jungle lunch. Enjoy your meal at a scenic mountain viewpoint, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.
After lunch, continue trekking through forest trails and Akha farmland before arriving at Ban Namxa, an authentic Akha village, in the afternoon.
Before entering through the traditional Akha spirit gate, your guide explains important cultural Do’s and Don’ts to ensure respectful interaction. Explore the village and observe daily life. Visit the traditional “girls’ house,” once a cultural meeting place where young Akha men and women met and shared stories.
If time allows, join your host family in preparing dinner, a special opportunity to learn traditional Akha cooking methods. In the evening, listen to storytelling from a village elder, gaining insight into Akha beliefs, customs, and spiritual traditions.
Overnight in a local family home with simple bedding. You may also enjoy a traditional Akha-style massage offered by village women, a warm gesture of hospitality and respect for visitors.

Day 2: Akha Village – NamTha River Kayak – Back to City
(Approx: 4-5 hours kayak)

Wake up to the peaceful rhythm of village life and enjoy breakfast with your host family before saying goodbye.
Travel by Tuk-Tuk take 10 minutes to the Namtha River to begin your kayaking adventure. Paddle downstream through beautiful scenery of forest and farmland. Along the way, stop to visit a Lantan village, where you learn about their unique culture and traditional handicrafts.
Continue kayaking past local fishermen and riverside communities. Stop for a relaxing riverside lunch featuring local dishes.
In the afternoon, visit Khmu villages along the river and take a short walk to a scenic viewpoint for panoramic views of the valley before returning by Tuk-Tuk to Luang Namtha.
