Day 1: Office – Doiluckkham – Nalan Village
Approx. 4–5 hours trekking
Begin your adventure with a drive from Luang Namtha to Doiluckkham, the starting point of your trek into Nam Ha National Protected Area. Follow scenic forest trails through secondary and upland rainforest, enjoying mountain views, fresh air, and impressive ancient trees along the way. Your guide will introduce local plants, wildlife, and the importance of the forest to nearby communities.
Around midday, enjoy a traditional jungle picnic lunch in a peaceful natural setting before continuing through dense forest and rolling hills. Arrive at Nalan Village, a charming Khmu community nestled along the Nam Ha River. Spend the evening learning about local traditions and daily life, enjoy a home-cooked dinner, and experience the warm hospitality of your village homestay.
Day 2: Nalan village – LuangNamTha city
Approx. 3–6 hours depending on route
Wake up to the sounds of village life and enjoy breakfast with your host family. Before departing, take time to explore the village and learn about traditional activities such as rice pounding and crossbow shooting.
Option 1 – Short & Scenic Route (3–4 hours)
Follow beautiful forest trails through the hills surrounding Nalan. Stop for a relaxing lunch in the forest before descending through shaded woodland to Chalernsouk Village. From there, a Tuk-Tuk will transfer you back to Luang Namtha.
Option 2 – Cultural & Mountain Route (5–6 hours)
Walk along the scenic Nam Ha Valley, visiting Khmu and Lanten villages to learn about local culture, farming, and traditional handicrafts. Continue through rice fields and mountain forest to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Nam Ha National Protected Area. Enjoy a traditional jungle lunch before descending to a Lanten village, where transport will be waiting to take you back to Luang Namtha.
