Day 1: Office – Doiluckkham – Nalan Village
Approx. 4–5 hours trekking
Your adventure begins in Doiluckkham, about 20 km from Luang Namtha, following the scenic route used for the popular one-day trek, The trail climbs steadily through secondary forest before leading you into the heart of the upland rainforest of Nam Ha National Protected Area.
As you trek, enjoy sweeping ridge-line views, cool mountain breezes, and the chance to walk among towering ancient trees that have shaped the forest’s long natural history. This is a perfect trail for nature lovers wanting both serenity and adventure.
Around midday, relax with a Lao-style jungle picnic lunch served in the refreshing shade of the upland forest or in a cozy thatched farmer’s shelter an unforgettable outdoor dining experience surrounded by pure nature.
After lunch, continue your journey through dense green canopies, hiking for another 2–3 hours beneath impressive old-growth trees. You’ll reach Nalan Village before sunset, a peaceful riverside village known for its warm hospitality and rich Khmu culture.
Upon arrival, settle into your comfortable village homestay. Spend the evening exploring Nalan’s traditional lifestyle, customs, and daily rhythms. Dinner features delicious homemade local cuisine, followed by optional community activities a beautiful chance to connect with the people who call this forest home.

Day 2: Nalan – Chalernsouk Village or Nalan – Nahome – Namlue Village
Approx. 3–6 hours depending on route
Wake up to the sounds of the forest and village life. Enjoy a gentle morning walk around Nalan, sipping Lao coffee or herbal tea in bamboo cups, and try unique cultural experiences such as crossbow shooting or traditional hand rice pounding. After breakfast, choose between two memorable trekking options:
Option 1 – Short & Scenic Route (3–4 hours)
– Begin with an uphill walk through beautiful forest trails.
– Stop at Nalan’s traditional forest lunch spot for a refreshing mid-day meal.
– Continue with a gentle 2-hour descent through shaded woodlands until you reach Chalernsouk Village, where your tuk tuk awaits to take you back to Luang Namtha.
Option 2 : Cultural & Mountain Route (4–5 hours)
After breakfast, begin with an easy 1.5-hour walk along the Nam Ha Valley dirt road, enjoying river views and rural scenery, Visit Khmu and Lantan villages, learn about local culture and daily life, and have time to purchase handmade Lantan handicrafts. Guests may also visit local schools and donate books, pencils, or small supplies.
Continue walking past rice fields before entering the jungle and mountain forest, ascending to a scenic viewpoint. Enjoy a traditional jungle-cooked lunch at the mountain peak with panoramic views over Nam Ha.
After lunch, walk downhill through forest trails to another Lantan village, where transport will take you back to Luang Namtha city around noon.
