Day : 01 Ban Prang – Ban Nam Khouy
(Approx: 3 hrs walk)
Your journey begins at 9:00 AM with a short briefing, followed by a visit to the vibrant morning market where you will help select fresh ingredients for your meals in the jungle. Afterward, explore Ban Prang, a traditional Khmu village, to gain insight into local daily life and culture.
From the village, begin trekking through bamboo forests within the pristine landscapes of Nam Ha National Protected Area. Along the trail, your guide will introduce you to jungle plants, wildlife habitats, and traditional uses of forest resources. Enjoy a freshly prepared jungle lunch before continuing to Ban Nam Khouy, a peaceful Lahu village nestled in the mountains. Spend the night in a local homestay, surrounded by scenic highland views and warm village hospitality.
Day : 02 Ban Nam Khouy – Ban Prang
(Approx: 5 hrs walk)
Wake to the sounds of nature and begin trekking through dense primary forest. Along the way, learn about medicinal plants, jungle survival techniques, and the ecological importance of this protected environment. A picnic lunch will be served in the forest, offering a peaceful moment to relax and take in the surroundings.
In the afternoon, descend back to Ban Prang, where you will experience a welcoming Khmu homestay, enjoy traditional cuisine, and learn more about local customs and lifestyle.
Day : 03 Ban Thasea – Jungle Camp
(Approx: 6 hrs walk)
Today’s trek takes you deeper into the heart of Nam Ha National Protected Area, far from the usual tourist trails. Visit a sacred spirit tree respected by local communities and continue along remote jungle paths. Lunch will be prepared in traditional bamboo tubes over an open fire.
By late afternoon, arrive at a secluded riverside jungle camp. Here you will learn practical wilderness skills such as building a natural shelter, fishing techniques, and cooking with forest ingredients. Spend the night under the stars, immersed in the sounds of the rainforest—an unforgettable true jungle experience.
Day : 04 Jungle Camp – Khmu Village
(Approx: 7 hrs walk)
After breakfast in the forest, continue trekking through varied terrain, exploring hidden waterfalls, wildlife trails, and panoramic viewpoints along the way. The route gradually leads you to a remote Khmu village, where you will be welcomed by local families.
Enjoy an authentic homestay experience with cultural exchange, storytelling, and a traditional home-cooked dinner. This evening offers a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community and learn about their traditions and way of life.
Day 5: Nalan – Return to Luang Namtha
(Approx: 5–7 hrs)
Begin the morning with cultural activities in the village, such as observing daily routines, traditional farming, or local handicrafts.
Option 1 – Shorter Trek:
Enjoy an easy jungle walk to Ban Chalernsouk, another Khmu village, before returning to Luang Namtha by tuk-tuk.
Option 2 – Extended Cultural Trek:
Follow scenic trails along the Nam Ha River, passing through Khmu and Lanten communities. Visit Ban Namlue, known for its traditional indigo textile weaving and bamboo paper making, before returning to Luang Namtha.
