Day 1: Luang Prabang – Nong Khiaw – Village & Patok Cave (L/D)
Approx: 4-5 hours walk
Meet your guide in Luang Prabang and begin a scenic drive north to Nong Khiaw, following beautiful mountain roads and rural landscapes. Along the way, stop at Ban Na Nyang, a traditional Lao Leu village known for its wooden houses, weaving traditions, and local handicrafts. Enjoy a walk through the village and learn about the local way of life.
Continue to Nong Khiaw, one of the most beautiful destinations in northern Laos, surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains and the Nam Ou River. After lunch, visit the historic Patok Cave, which served as a shelter and headquarters during the Indochina War. Learn about its important role in local history while exploring the cave and its surroundings.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Lao dinner and relax at a riverside guesthouse overlooking the Nam Ou River and the stunning mountain scenery.
Day 2: Kayaking, 100 Waterfalls Trek & Khmu Homestay (B/L/D)
Approx: 4-5 hours walk
After breakfast, begin kayaking down the scenic Nam Ou River through spectacular limestone landscapes and peaceful riverside villages. Arrive at a Khmu village and start the famous 100 Waterfalls Trek, following streams and waterfalls through lush jungle scenery.
Enjoy lunch near the waterfalls before returning to the river. Continue by local boat to a remote Khmu village, where you will experience authentic village life, traditional customs, and warm local hospitality. Share dinner with your host family and spend the night in a traditional Khmu homestay.
Day 3: Nam Ou River Kayaking – Luang Prabang (B/L)
Approx: 4-5 hours walk
Enjoy breakfast in the village before setting off on your final kayaking adventure along a beautiful section of the Nam Ou River. Paddle through peaceful landscapes of towering limestone cliffs, forested mountains, and small riverside communities.
Stop for a relaxing riverside lunch before completing the kayaking journey. Meet your vehicle and drive back to Luang Prabang, arriving in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of northern Laos, its people, and its spectacular natural beauty.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Lao dinner and relax at a riverside guesthouse overlooking the Nam Ou River and the stunning mountain scenery.
