Pakse, located in southern Laos, is a gateway to some of the country’s most stunning natural attractions, including breathtaking waterfalls and scenic landscapes. Here’s a suggested 2-day itinerary to help you experience the best of Pakse and its surroundings

    This two-day trekking tour takes you from Pakse to the scenic Bolaven Plateau, a region known for its waterfalls, coffee plantations, and ethnic diversity. Explore the dramatic Tad Fane and Tad Yuang waterfalls, trek through limestone formations, and spend a night in Ban Nong Luang village, where you will experience the local lifestyle and participate in a traditional Baci ceremony. On the second day, hike to the stunning Dan Noy limestone cliffs and visit the multi-tiered Tad Chet Chanh Waterfall before returning to Pakse.

    Day 1: Pakse – Bolaven Plateau – Tad Fane  Tad Yuang – Ban Nong Luang (L/D)
    We begin our journey by driving up to the Bolaven Plateau, a historical route once part of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Along the way, we pass through scenic tea and coffee plantations before arriving at Ban Hue Jiet Village, home to the Ngae ethnic minority. From here, we start our trek through coffee plantations and the stunning Dan Sinxai limestone formations, reaching the picturesque Champi Waterfall. This is an ideal spot for a picnic lunch and a refreshing swim.

    After lunch, we continue trekking to the iconic 220-meter-high Tad Fane Waterfall, followed by a visit to the equally beautiful Tad Yuang Waterfall. Our journey then takes us to Ban Nong Luang, where we will spend the night. In the late afternoon, we have the opportunity to explore the village, enjoy a traditional dinner, and participate in a Baci ceremony.

    Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours of transfer and 5 hours of trekking.

    Day 2: Ban Nong Luang – Dan Noy – Dan Ngai – Tad Chet Chanh – Pakse (B/L)
    After breakfast and bidding farewell to our host family, we begin the day with a hike to the dramatic Dan Noy limestone cliffs, offering spectacular views of Dong Hua Sao National Protected Area. Along the way, we will discover an extremely rare 1000-year-old Rosewood tree. A short trek then takes us to Tad Chet Zun Waterfall, a breathtaking seven-tiered cascade.

    Continuing through the jungle, we pass Tad Suea Waterfall before arriving at Dan Ngai. The journey showcases diverse flora, including wild orchids and medicinal herbs, and provides panoramic views of Champassak and the Mekong River. After lunch, we hike back to the village via a different trail and return to Pakse, concluding our adventure.
